User Experience audits for startups.
Round 1 starting soon. Only 10 spots available.

What we look at

Pillars of Good UX

Onboarding

First impressions count. 1 in 5 apps are abandoned after a single use. A new user won’t stick around to figure out how to register for and use your product if it’s not quick, easy, and intuitive.

Task Completion

What are the primary goals of your experience? Once these are defined, we will text how hard it is for a user to coomplish them. How long does it take? How many steps?

Affordances

Simply put, items that are actionable should appear to be so and items that are not actionable should not look like they are.

Site/App Speed

Speed matters. For example, Google discovered that slowing search results by just 4/10ths of a second reduced searches by 8 million/day.

Typography and scanability

Consistent use of fonts. Font sizes. Contrast. Leading. White space.

Information Design

For information to have impact, it must be easy to find, use, and understand.

Forms and Inputs

How much and what kinds of information are you asking from users, and what are you offering in return?

Trust and credibility

Purchase flows, product descriptions, payment, and checkout flows.

What is a UX Audit?

Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works." - Steve Jobs

We dig into your product to ensure it aligns to

make sure your products works, and works well. Design is no onger a nice to have in business, it is a need to have. People are used to products that work seamlessly, and won't settle for anything less. Visual Design is important, but it's important to avoid a product that is pretty but broken. It has to work, and it has to work well.

How does it work?

Step 1 - You send us your product.

You’ll fill out a short questionnaire and send it over along with a link to where we can find the product. Make sure to include any promo codes we might need if there is a paywall.

Step 2 - We dive in.

We dig into your product and evaluate it against the criteria detailed in the “What we look at” section above. We package the evaluation up into a PDF that you can share with your team. This process takes about 2 weeks.

Step 3 - We present findings and recommendations.

We’ll present our findings to you and your team over an hour long screen share via Skype or Google Hangouts. We’ll explain our findings as well as our recommendations, and answer any questions you may have.

Step 4 - That’s up to you!

You can decide if you want to act on what we’ve found here (you should!). Have your team make the appropriate changes, or hire one of our UXperts (yep) to help make these changes.
